The warmth of wasted memories

Bury your dead bodies here,

The frivolity of your fiction

Hides your heavy-lidded truth

Your fortress of solitude

Melting into a pool of cacophony

Order amidst chaos

….Struggling against entropy

Beguiling, the seductions of scattered realities

..You hibernate as snow trickles off your skin

I watch as layers form

Like veils of shame

and walls of steel

You sleep, the sleep of someone willing

To cross fine lines of trust, betrayal, death,

And grey areas between.

I watch your frigid body curl up into itself

Unfolding, shrinking, birthing, melting

Like origami cranes

And rain-drenched paper boats

Or like half-dreamt nightmares, waiting.
