Let us assume there are two truths

Two realities that we hold on fiercely to

Two flags planted on disputed lands

Two bodies left for us to scavenge

And strip away any semblance of soul

Then let us stand facing each other

And try to talk ourselves into a compromise

Talk about this and that memory

This or that wrongdoing

This or that broken promise

Let us try and sell our little worlds

As these two bodies, that were once us

Or were once one,

Lie waiting for night to fall,

To a temporary end to hostilities.
